The Thomas St. Angelo Public Library is pleased to announce the launch of the Cumberland Advocate digitization project. What does this mean? It means that Cumberland Advocate newspapers from 1882 to 2024 can now be accessed online!
It is the library’s mission to provide quality materials and services that fulfill education, information and cultural needs. This project was made possible with the foresight of the library, the generous financial support of donors, and the collaboration of the Cumberland Advocate.
The collection is available through the Thomas St. Angelo Public Library website, hosted in partnership with Advantage Archives.
Digitizing the Cumberland Advocate ensures long-term preservation of historic print materials while making local information accessible to readers, researchers, genealogists, students, and community members. Articles such as obituaries, family notices and regional history will now available from the library or from your home.
The library plans to continue to digitize future newspaper releases. These efforts will support the library’s mission of increasing access to information and strengthening partnerships.
